Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County (HFHWC) received a $7,000 grant from Bank of America this September. The funding from this generous donation will be restricted to four projects included in Wicomico Habitat’s affordable home program. The projects will consist of renovating homes in the Church Street neighborhood of Salisbury.

“Homeownership is the key and foundation for future success for most families. Because of this grant assistance, we can rehab these unoccupied homes and help more families achieve their dream of homeownership,” said Molly Hilligoss, executive director of HFHWC.

Since 1987, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County has built 70 homes for families who were struggling to obtain homeownership due to a lack of affordable housing.  Habitat families work in partnership with Wicomico Habitat, volunteers, and the local community to build their homes, which they purchase and repay with an affordable monthly mortgage payment.
