September 2020 – CDC’s Temporary Halt in Evictions:

The Centers for Disease Control have mandated a temporary halt in evictions to help prevent further spread of COVID-19. This order prevents you from being evicted or removed from where you are living through December 31, 2020.

Under the CDC’s order, you must provide a copy of the below declaration to your landlord, owner of the residential property where you live, or another person who has a right to have you evicted or removed from where you live.

You May Qualify if:

  • You are in danger of losing your rental housing because of a reduction in employment hours, or job loss directly related to COVID-19

  • If your household income is at or below 80% of the area median income (see HUD income limit chart)*

  • You live in Wicomico County

You Will NOT Qualify if:

  • You reside within the Salisbury City Limits

  • You reside in public housing, Low Income Housing, Tax Credit funded housing, or other state financially assisted housing or have already received rental assistance from another source

  • If you were behind in your rent prior to March 16, 2020

  • If your household received an eviction notice prior to March 16, 2020
